AFMC Graduation Questionnaire

The AFMC Graduation Questionnaire (GQ) is an annual survey designed to elicit feedback about the educational experiences of students graduating from the Medical Doctor (MD) programs at the 17 Canadian faculties of medicine. This important tool helps improve the education of future medical students. Specifically, it is used to support Canadian Undergraduate and Student Affairs deans with the evaluation of MD programs, respond to accreditation requirements, and provide the necessary evidence for the advancement of the recommendations of the Future of Medical Education in Canada (FMEC) undergraduate (MD) project.

The AFMC began administering an English- and French-language version of the GQ in February 2015. The GQ was developed with assistance from our Canadian Undergraduate and Student Affairs deans and the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) secretariat, and replaces the Association of American Medical Colleges’ (AAMC) Canadian Graduation Questionnaire (CGQ). Prior to 2015, the AAMC administered an English-language version of the CGQ from 2001 to 2014 and a French-language version from 2009 to 2014.
