OTTAWA, April 18, 2017 – Trust: That is the key facet of the relationship between a patient and their doctor. Trust within the health care system means doctors and health care teams trust that each is able to do what they do. Entrustable Professional Activities mean a doctor’s ability to understand their own limitations and knowing when to ask for help. Clinical activities that trainees can be trusted to perform with minimal or no supervision have been labeled as Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs).

AFMC Supports the Recommendations of the CIHR International Peer Review Expert Panel

OTTAWA, March 01, 2017 - The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) applauds CIHR's International Peer Review Expert Panel for their report. AFMC is pleased to have met with the Panel on January 17, 2017 and with the significant alignment between the report recommendations and the AFMC submission. In particular, the overarching goals of accountability, transparency and responsiveness, which AFMC believes should be integral components of any peer review system, are very much taken into account in the report.

Dr. Bernard Jasmin Appointed as Vice President - Research

Université Laval, Université de Montréal and Université de Sherbrooke Preparing to Launch on the AFMC Student Portal

OTTAWA, February 13, 2017 – The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) is pleased to announce that the French-language schools in Québec - Université de Montréal, Université Laval and Université de Sherbrooke - will be joining McGill University and the Canadian Medical schools outside of Québec on the AFMC Student Portal. Students completing interprovincial visiting electives will benefit from the new application service that has been developed in partnership with the medical schools and the Bureau de la coopération interuniversitaire (BCI).
